Guidelines

I have included a set of guided reading questions to help structure your reading. You can get to these these on the syllabus schedule.

Helpful Hints for Reading and Taking Notes:

  • You should be able to reference DETAILED EXAMPLES from the reading – Notetaking is about walking a fine line between over-detailed notes and notes that lack detail. Experiment with finding the right balance for you.
  • Use page number references in your notes so that you can refer back to the text (in class, for blog posts, or for your final project)
  • Experiment with different formats of notetaking - the Cornell method, graphic note taking, concept mapping. We'll talk about some of these in class.
  • Think about making notes that will be useful to you in class, as well as in your blog assignments. This will decrease the amount of time you'll spend digging back through the reading later.
